I decided to Critique the first three photos Kassandra placed on the blog.
Photo 1- I loved this photo! Mainly due to the fact that I love bikes. The picture was taken in Del Rio, and was taken in front of a bar, and gives the bike a scene of like a biker gang type of thing. I would have liked it if the bike on the right was cropped out of the photo, as it seems a bit distracting, but for the most part, my attention is with the main bike. The reflections on the main bike's chrome is nice, and it also looks like Kassandra got low to take the photo (not sure if that would be considered alternative point of view). This was also shot in an open frame.
Photo 2- The sign before you enter Mexico is one too familiar with me, since I am originally from El Paso. This photo has a great example of rule of thirds and has the light/dark balance. I liked how this photo gave a desolate look, especially when looking down the road there is only desert. There is a deep depth of field, thus she might have used a smaller aperture, but I would have personally liked a larger aperture and for what is on the background to be a bit more blurry (speed limit sign) while still focusing on the "Warning" sign.
Photo 3- This photo is so beautiful, gives me a feeling of peaceful tranquility! The balance of color both light and dark is great. The quote she picked is a great one, by John Ruskin, it goes well with the photo. In some kind of way, i can see the clouds moving still (weird I know). The photo was shot in an open frame as well.
