I decided to Critique the first three photos Kassandra placed on the blog.
Photo 1- I loved this photo! Mainly due to the fact that I love bikes. The picture was taken in Del Rio, and was taken in front of a bar, and gives the bike a scene of like a biker gang type of thing. I would have liked it if the bike on the right was cropped out of the photo, as it seems a bit distracting, but for the most part, my attention is with the main bike. The reflections on the main bike's chrome is nice, and it also looks like Kassandra got low to take the photo (not sure if that would be considered alternative point of view). This was also shot in an open frame.
Photo 2- The sign before you enter Mexico is one too familiar with me, since I am originally from El Paso. This photo has a great example of rule of thirds and has the light/dark balance. I liked how this photo gave a desolate look, especially when looking down the road there is only desert. There is a deep depth of field, thus she might have used a smaller aperture, but I would have personally liked a larger aperture and for what is on the background to be a bit more blurry (speed limit sign) while still focusing on the "Warning" sign.
Photo 3- This photo is so beautiful, gives me a feeling of peaceful tranquility! The balance of color both light and dark is great. The quote she picked is a great one, by John Ruskin, it goes well with the photo. In some kind of way, i can see the clouds moving still (weird I know). The photo was shot in an open frame as well.

Critique motion and sequence- Felicia
Sequence photo 1, she used stop motion and blur as a sequence. With stop motion (first part of the photograph) the kids were moving forward and their balloons were in motion. For blur, (on the second part of the photograph) the kids were on in motion, except for one child whose face looks like its in focus. It seems that both photos were also shot in an open frame. The colors also stand out in the first sequence.
Photo 2- I loved this photo, which also showed stop motion and blur in a sequence. The first part consisted of yet again an open frame with stop motion on the girl with the blue shirt And a bit of blur motion with the girl I the pink. There is a balance of light and dark in both photos from the sun and the shade/trees. Rule of thirds Was shown with the trees and the blue tent. On the second photo, blur motion is a definite.I loved how the two girls are running in blur and the rest of the photo seems like its in a stand still (the adults and the children sitting on the grass). Felicia also pointed out the runners pose of the girl in pink, which I think is pretty cool for blur motion (to be able to see the pose).
Photo 3- This shows both composition and blur motion techniques. The first photograph Shows different kind of lines, curvilinear Line with the chairs in the background. The lines on the tile floor and the ones on the chairs. Felicia told me in order to get the blur motion was that she kicked the chair and took The photo with a high shutter speed. I liked her example of blur motion since the first photograph was not needed to tell what the second one was (I know I don't make any sense, but I can still tell its a lawn chair) For some reason I really found the bag on the stool a bit distracting, as well as with other item. But for some reason the tables edge being there kind of balanced with the cabinets and the stools, with the wall.

Writing Assignment #1
Out of many photographs that I could have chosen, I picked
this one from the days preceding the September 11 attacks. This photograph
somewhat looks like the flag rising after the battle in Iwo Jima, also shown in the background of this photograph(being for victory), yet the 9/11 photograph gives a patriotic, spirit and unity meaning. It also represents how things can change in a matter of seconds. How this photo pertains to me is, these attacks happened when I was in high school and in the transition of choosing either going to school, or joining the military. I chose the military, United States Air Force Security Forces. In a sense, I wanted to show my (and many others) support for our country. Many people’s lives were
changed on this day, both in the United States and worldwide. This photograph
shows so much willpower and determination to return to its once sovereign nation.
These firefighters with a gesture (such as raising the flag after falling),
showed so much strength. Which someday I wish to exhibit.
